GO2020 | ENGAGE: March Week 4 – CARESample
March 22
Is it possible to help others in such a way that it pushes them further from Christ rather than draws them toward him? Perhaps serving them with a sullen attitude, serving with the goal of building up ourselves, treating people harshly, even as we offer resources, or sharing kind words in the name of Jesus without offering practical help (James 2:14–16). This will amount to empty gestures that do not honor Christ. When we serve others, we are actually serving God, and we are commanded to serve God with gladness (Psalm 100:2). Let’s look to God’s Word to better understand how we should care for and serve others.
Memorize
Read this week’s memory verse, Psalm 100:2. You’ll be working on memorizing this verse throughout the week. Today, simply read it and rest.
