Lent: Remembering the Life of JesusSample
Miracle: Catch of Fish
Bible Reading: Luke 5:1-11
A miracle is defined as “a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency.” Jesus performed many “surprising and welcome events” during his 3-year ministry. We’ll study several of Jesus’s miracles over the next seven days.
Further Study
- What was Jesus doing before he spoke to Peter?
- What did Peter say to Jesus after the great catch of fish? Why do you think he said that?
- What would Peter and the disciples be fishing for from now on? What does this mean?
Reflect
- Worship: Write down one attribute of God and worship Him for who He is.
- Prayer: Pray for the people you work or go to school with.
- Remembrance: Think of a time when God provided for you in a miraculous way.
- Self-Examination: Do you tend to be someone who offers to help others? How could you be a part of a miracle for someone else?
A Kind Act
- Reach out to a friend you haven't talked to lately.
