God’s Blessing Toward us in Christ
Numbers 6:24-27
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace. So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them.”
Psalm 22:27-28
“All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him, for dominion belongs to the Lord and he rules over the nations.”
Jesus is the fullest expression of God’s blessing toward us. God’s face was turned toward us and shone upon us in the face of Jesus. In Christ we have peace with God and peace with others. In Christ, we have received the Father’s name and we are now part of his family. The promise that all of the families of the nations (ethnic people groups) will bow down and will turn toward the Lord is only possible because God has first turned toward us in Christ. Jesus has been given a name above all other names; he has been given the kingdom and the glory.
Father God, thank you for blessing my life through Christ. I pray for boldness to declare this blessing to the families of the nations, for your glory.
