I Will Carry You
Isaiah 46:1, 4
“Their idols are borne by beasts of burden. The images that are carried about are burdensome, a burden for the weary…Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”
We carry sin burdens and the weight of other gods (lust, fear, pride, self-indulgences) which weigh us down and make us weary. The Living God invites us to surrender our sin and our will to Him. He invites us to find our life in Him. He promises to carry us. He promises to sustain us and rescue us. That is a life giving exchange. We unload our weighty idols and run into the arms of God who now carries us!
How far will God carry us?
Even to our old age and grey hairs! God is in this for the long haul. Let us turn to Him today and find rest for our souls.
Lord God Almighty, you have carried me and you are carrying me this day, and you will carry me into glory. You are my sustainer and rescuer and worthy of all my praise and worship this day.
