Listening To The Word - 1 YearSample
Shine
Isaiah 60:1
“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you…”
Isaiah 62:1, 2
“…till her righteousness shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch. The nations will see your righteousness and all kings your glory…”
John 1:4-5
“In him was life and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness but the darkness has not understood it.”
It is the life of Jesus inside our lives that sets us apart from the world around us. We carry the light of the presence of God through His Spirit within us. People are drawn to Jesus; however, they also see our sin and the dirt of our humanity. There are many times when our fears, pride, selfishness, and sin dull the light within us so that it is barely visible to others around us. God desires that we be a torch, visible to all, blazing with His glory and light. The righteousness of Jesus and the salvation of Jesus in our lives should be visible for all to see. As we tell God’s story of salvation and deliverance through our stories of hope and love, we shine in the darkness.
Lord Jesus, may your light shine through me this day, in what I say and how I live, for your glory.
