Love God Greatly: EstherSample
King Ahaserus was proud of his wealth. He arrogantly displayed the things he obtained and his worldly glory for 180 days. I am by no means a wealthy person, but I do the same thing with what I have. I want to show off my possessions or my accomplishments to others. My heart is the same as King Ahaserus. I too find pride in what I have instead of being thankful to the One who gave me the blessings.
Thankfully, Jesus points us in a different direction. He points us to heaven. Everything we have here will one day pass away. Only the word of God and the souls of people will last for eternity. Unlike King Ahaserus, we must choose to live for what will last for eternity. Those things will never be taken away; moth or rust will never destroy them, and thieves can never break in and steal them. Instead of living for the moment, we are to live with heaven in sight and with eternity as our focus.
What can you do today to invest in the things that are eternal? Maybe it's spending extra time reading and memorizing God's Word. Maybe it's reaching out to someone who is hurting and being a source of comfort. Maybe it's walking across the street and build a relationship with your neighbor. Whatever it is, live for the eternal; it far outweighs the things here on earth.
Dear God, give me eyes for the things of heaven. Help me to invest my time, talents, money, and life into what will last for eternity. Help me to invest my life for Your glory. Amen.

About this Plan
Esther is an incredible story that reminds us God is always working. From this story, we learn there is no such thing as "coincidence." Though God may seem distant, even absent at times, He is present. God is always with us and at work in our lives, just like He was in Esther's so many years ago.
