"Unshakable" READY How would you feel if you helped change someone’s life only to have other people accuse you, threaten you, or insult you for doing so? That must have been what Peter and John felt after healing the lame man. Peter and John were arrested to face the Sanhedrin for preaching the gospel and performing signs and wonders in the name of Jesus. Facing the council of Pharisees and Sadducees at that time was as good as being on trial for a crime. Aside from being questioned about their message, Peter and John faced threats from one of the most powerful assembly at that time. It was the supreme court of the country in their time. Fortunately, they weren't found guilty because no one could deny the result of the healed man. There will be countless instances when people around us would do everything to find fault in our faith and the Gospel we are sharing. For some, standing up for Jesus would mean losing some friends or being questioned by parents. There are also students who are questioned about the validity of the Bible, some asked to renounce Jesus in classes, and some would even be threatened by expulsion. Whatever faults they may point at us, let's just continue what we are doing. We know and we believe that this will bear fruit in time. Parents will see that their sons or daughters have changed. Our classmates' accusations will be silenced when they see the miracles of God. Hopefully, they themselves will come to know Him also.
