"Qualified" READY Peter and John stood boldly in front of all the educated religious leaders and defended their faith with power after performing a miraculous healing. It was truly an amazing sight, one that makes it harder to believe that just a couple of books before, the Bible tells us that these men were fishermen before Jesus called them. In fact, the religious and political leaders could see that they were ordinary and uneducated. (That's not an excuse to drop your degree. Stay in school!) The only conclusion they could arrive at was these men had spent time with Jesus and now they were different. What is it that makes you feel like you're unqualified to preach the gospel? It could be your shady past, a history of mistakes and wrong decisions made. It could be how far you got in school or how much money you have in your pocket. No matter what it is that you think disqualifies you from preaching the gospel before all kinds of people, Jesus is our greatest qualification. When people see you sharing the gospel boldly or even just making your stand for Jesus, people will see your character and see the visible proof of the power of Jesus in you. Above all these, they will encounter Jesus through you when they see the difference He makes in your life. SET What personal qualities do you have that make you think you can't be a witness? Reflect on how being with Jesus is your only necessary qualification. GO Fight whatever lies are making you insecure. Fight back with the Word of God. Go somewhere and pray. You can put your hand on your heart, face the mirror, then declare God's Word over yourself. You are empowered by the Holy Spirit. You are God's child. You are who God says you are. You can do what God says you can do.
