"HOW DO YOU RESPOND TO THE BIBLE?"
It is so many things: a priceless gift, a powerful weapon, a great work of art, a touching love letter, a practical advice giver, a moral law.
What do you do with such a thing?
It has life-changing power, but how do you let it change your life?
The answer is easy. Open it. Read it. Study it. It can only change your life if you make it a part of your life.
The entirety of Psalm 119 is a wonderful meditation on God's Word and the role Scripture can and should play in your life, but just looking at verses 9-16 a wealth of practical advice can be found.
"I seek you with all my heart..." Don't just read the words, prayerfully look for what God would have you discover.
"I have hidden your Word in my heart..." Again, don't just read. Memorize. Internalize.
"I meditate on your precepts and consider your ways..." Study. Learn. Spend time with it. Meditate on it; give it deep thought and consideration.
"I delight in your decrees..." Take joy it in. This is God's Word. For you. It is universal, yes, for everyone; but it is also uniquely personal, one of God's ways to speak to you where you are, physically, temporally, and spiritually.
No other book like it exists. You have access to it on your shelf or at your fingers.
What are you going to do with it?
Are you hiding God's Word in your heart? Take time to think on passages you have learned.
