Read To Me Daily Semester 2Sample
NUMBERS 26:
Yesterday in the book of Numbers, we heard Balaam's final prophecies. Even though he was a shaman and a charlatan, God chose to speak through him on that occasion, giving a small glimpse of God's redemptive plan.
PSALM 41:
In our psalm for today, Psalm 41, David assures us that God hears us when we are down and cry out for his help.
ACTS 2b:
In the first half of Acts chapter 2, we heard how the Holy Spirit came with tongues of fire and a loud noise, and we heard the beginning part of Peter's first famous sermon in this book.
Let’s pray together.
O Lord our God, how we thank You! Thank You for what You’ve done for us through Christ Jesus. We can say just like David, that you pulled us out of a dangerous pit, out of deadly quicksand. And You have set us on a rock and made us secure. You have taught us a new song, a song of praise to our God. O, let many who see this take warning, and put their trust in You also! Lord, we see so clearly that the relationship that we have with You is not something to be kept secret. It’s not something to be kept private. It’s something to be shared. So David says, “In the assembly of your people, Lord, I told the good news that You saved me. You know that I will never stop telling it.” Lord, help us to keep on telling the news. David continues in Psalm 40, “I have not kept the news of salvation to myself. I have always spoken of your faithfulness and help. In the assembly of all your people I have not been silent about your loyalty and constant love. Lord, I know that you will never stop being merciful to me. Your love and loyalty will always keep me safe.” Lord thank You for your love and loyalty! No wonder we can be joyful in You! “May all who come to You be glad and joyful. May all who are thankful for your salvation always say, ‘How great is the Lord!’” Lord, thank You that you started the church out with people telling about salvation. You wanted people to hear in their own languages. So You worked a glorious miracle. But now you tell us to go to the people of every tribe and language and nation, in order to proclaim your news. So, Lord, we ask that You would pour your Spirit upon us in these days. And that you would reach out your hand and perform miracles. And thank You, Lord, that everyone who calls out to the Lord will be saved.
