This Year I Will Sample
Day 7: This Year I Will Be Faithful
Do you want to be fruitful this year? I hope so! Most people long to live a life of purpose—to live in a way that makes a difference in our world and leaves a mark, big or small. What difference has God called you to make this year? Maybe it’s bringing justice to a cause that’s burning within your heart, being the best parent you can be to your kids, or excelling in your career field so you can give generously to others and help finance the Kingdom of God to move forward.
Nehemiah was a faithful “I will” person in every way. Honest with his work, consistent in his leadership, and faithful to the purposes and plans of God—He was a man on a mission: to rebuild the broken walls of Jerusalem.
Like Nehemiah, you have a God-given mission set before you this year! You’re anointed and appointed to make a difference in this world and you possess two very powerful weapons that are dangerous to the darkness, powerful, and potent. They’re the weapons of faithfulness and focus.
Nehemiah was just an ordinary man that set out on an extraordinary mission from God. He led the people to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem in only 52 days. How? Great faithfulness and focus. When distractions came, his response reflected his determination.
Nehemiah 6:3 says, “And I sent messengers unto them, saying, “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease, whilst I leave it and come down to you?”
We should respond like Nehemiah to distractions in life that come our way! We’re all rebuilding a wall this year. Maybe you’re rebuilding the wall of your marriage, your finances, your family, your purity, your career, or your broken heart. When you’re rebuilding something, you need both faithfulness and focus.
God has called you to do a great work this year. Don’t come down from it! Ditch the distractions and continue to rebuild your wall with strength. Be faithful to consistently show up to your assignment in this season. With faithfulness and focus, this year you will see your God-dreams, desires, and goals become a reality.
Pray with me today: “Heavenly Father, thank You for always being so faithful to me. This year, help me to be faithful to the things You’ve called me to do. I pray You would strengthen my convictions to live a life marked by faithfulness and focus! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
About this Plan
This is the year of I will. This isn’t the year of I might, I’ll think about it, or I’ll get around to it. This is the year of taking action when it comes to the dreams, gifts, and callings God has given you. What has God put in your heart to do this year?May this be your faith declaration: this year I will!
