This Year I Will Sample
Day 3: This Year I Will Show Up Where I Need To Be
It’s been said that half the battle in life is simply showing up. It’s fun to start something and it’s amazing to finish something, but the key to getting through the middle portion is to just keep showing up.
What are the goals and God-dreams in your heart this year? If you’re trying to get healthier, keep showing up to the gym. If your heart’s desire is to see your marriage healed, keep showing up and being present with your spouse. If your resolution is to know God better, keep showing up to spend time in His presence daily.
David was an “I will” person. Long before David was appointed as King of Israel, he was faithful to show up where he needed to be—in fact, that’s what led him to take down Goliath. For years, David served his father by shepherding the sheep. Before he was thrown into the spotlight, he was faithful in the shadows.
In 1 Samuel 17, David’s dad asks him to run an errand. He tells David to bring food to his brother’s camp because they had followed Saul to war. What David didn’t know is that their camp was the same location where Goliath had threatened the ranks of Israel for forty days.
David’s route to his destiny came through simple obedience to his father. He was faithful to do what he was asked. He showed up where he needed to be and ran right into God’s plan: Goliath. With confidence and courage, David came against Goliath with the Name of the Lord Almighty and a simple stone, and the rest is history.
Where has God called you to show up to this year? Doing what God’s called you to do requires showing up when you don’t feel like it—especially when it’s not fun. This year, show up to what God’s wanting to do in you. Show up to your relationships, jobs, dreams, commitments, goals, and priorities. Simply decide not to quit! Your calling will require consistency and character, both of which will probably cost you your comfort.
Stop listening to the voice of someday and start moving forward into your destiny today. Keep showing up to where God’s called you to be—and watch as He does the miraculous and impossible in your life this year!
Pray with me today: “Heavenly Father, thank You for creating divine appointments along my path this year. Help me to show up to all of the things You’ve called me to do—and to live with character and consistency when it comes to my purpose. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

About this Plan
This is the year of I will. This isn’t the year of I might, I’ll think about it, or I’ll get around to it. This is the year of taking action when it comes to the dreams, gifts, and callings God has given you. What has God put in your heart to do this year?May this be your faith declaration: this year I will!
