Echo: Impacting Future GenerationsSample
In Psalm 145, David says that God is faithful, and indeed He is. He keeps His promises even when we don’t.
The apostle Paul would also find this to be true of God much, much later and record for us some of the promises God makes. Paul was able to speak with authority on the promises of God in his letters to the early churches because he spent a lot of time studying the things of God. When he was put on the spot by spiritual leaders, he was able to defend God’s truth with confidence.
Although Paul was an intelligent, educated man before his conversion, Paul did not rely on his training alone. As soon as he put his faith in Jesus for salvation, he began to seek the Lord and His Truth with his whole heart. As a result, God preserved Paul’s sound teaching for future generations.
As you read today’s passages, reflect on the truth of them and thank God for the times He’s proven Himself to be Who David and Paul said He was. Consider the level of commitment to God and His truth you currently demonstrate and whether you are demonstrating the kind of commitment and passionate service His goodness deserves, the kind David and Paul demonstrated.
