The Power of SameSample
THE POWER OF SAME MISSION
Mistakes & Miracles
Our greatest weaknesses are often the canvas upon which God displays His greatest strength.
David was one of God's most beloved children. He was the teenage boy chosen to step away from shepherding and slay a giant. He was a mighty warrior in battle and a man God described as being "after His own heart."
But David wasn't perfect.
Like all of us, at some point, no matter how committed we are to our life's mission, David made a mistake.
David's mistake happened to be profound - He committed adultery with Bathsheba, then had her husband killed in a battle David should have been fighting in himself.
But in Psalm 51, David cries out to God in remorse, and begs God to restore his sense of purpose and hope in life. Although God was displeased with David, He listened to his cries, and honored the blessing He promised David. It was through David's lineage that we ultimately received Jesus, the Savior of the world.
The place of our mistake can become the starting point for God's miracle.
When we realize we've messed up, our conviction can drive us to our knees before the only One capable of restoring us - God.
Only we can bring our mistakes to Him. But when we do, He will restore us. Each and every time.
Pray:
God, You are the God of second chances. Through the death of Your Son Jesus, You have forgiven me of my sins. All my mistakes are paid for and I stand redeemed in Your eyes. I surrender all my mistakes to You today, Lord, so that You might restore a willing spirit in me to live for Your purposes again. In Jesus' name, Amen.
