Life in the KingdomSample
Handle With Care
Fragile: Handle with Care – How often have these words been put on a shipment to protect the contents of a package. In an ideal perfect world such boxes would be gently moved from place to place and nothing would ever be damaged. The same is true, when it comes to dealing with people, we must practice “Handle with Care”.
How often is the heart of an individual crushed or the spirit of a child broken because they were not treated with care? The lack of gentleness resulting in harsh words and actions can damage and wound. Kingdom living deals with people gently, not harshly.
Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. (Philippians 4:5)
to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. (Titus 3:2)
You might be thinking, “Do you know what happens to gentle people? They get walked over. They get stepped on. They get laughed at. And most often they're ignored. So thanks but no thanks.”
Perhaps a struggle we have with gentleness is that we do not really understand what it is. Instead of losing, the gentle gain. Instead of being ripped off and taken advantage of, they come out ahead. That is why God wants to cultivate gentleness in us.
Prayer: Dear Lord, forgive me for the times I have put myself first and set others beneath me. Holy Spirit, teach me how to treat others with gentleness and extend my hand to those who have fallen, helping them rather than sitting in judgement over them. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!
