Life In The KingdomSample
Gentle God
God wants our lives to reflect the kindness of Christ. Take a look at different situations that Jesus found Himself in—rejection, betrayal, unbelief, disobedience, humiliation and death. We can see the gentle touch of God in how Jesus deals with people. Jesus is the perfect example of what it means to be gentle with others.
When He entered Jerusalem, prophecy was fulfilled, "Say to the Daughter of Zion, 'See, your king comes to you, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.' " (Matthew 21:5)
Kingdom gentleness must be seen in our attitude, in our behavior, and in our conversation, especially when things do happen the way we want them to. Your spouse will hurt you. Your boss will disappoint you. Your children will disobey you. Your friends will betray you. Even your church will fail you at times. What will you do? How will you respond? Will you come out fighting? Or will you choose to respond gently like Jesus?
Prayer: Lord I ask for You to rain down gentleness on me. Holy Spirit, help me be gentle when I interact with people so that I can exhibit Kingdom gentleness to others. Change me and manifest Yourself through me so that people will be drawn to You. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!
