Kindness To The Helpless
Jesus’ kindness is the believer’s example. Jesus, by allowing the children to come to Him, showed them their worth to Him. The children were important to Him. His display of kindness to them confirmed.
Sometimes we want to do things for people who can repay us in kind. For example, kind to our employer in order to get a promotion. But God says we are also to be kind to those who cannot repay and reward us.
14 and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just. (Luke 14:14)
So, we are not talking about being kind to nice people, but kind to all people. God wants us to do what He does. You see, I am not and cannot be a kind person if I am only kind to the nice people. What if God does the same? Kingdom kindness includes all people, especially those who are powerless, voiceless and helpless. Only then such kindness reflects and represents the Heavenly Father.
Prayer: Father God, I know that we are all Your sons and daughters. You love us all equally and unconditionally. Help me to live a Christ-like life and exhibit to all a Kingdom kindness that infects everyone. Remove any prejudices I have with the people in my life. In Jesus’ loving name, I pray, Amen!
