Streaks: PrayerSample
Something amazing happens the more we spend regular time in prayer – we are changed. Something deep down within us starts to shift, and our whole outlook and the way we handle situations starts to transform. This is why there are so many passages throughout the Bible that link prayer with things like peace, joy, and comfort. The more we bring our requests and issues to God, the more we see Him answer. And the more time we spend with Him, the more opportunity He has to transform us and fill us with peace and joy. This is the real point of prayer: not to get what we want from God, but to allow God to change us from within. So today, compare the descriptions in these verses with your own internal thoughts and feelings. If they don’t seem to match up, perhaps it’s time to start making prayer a much more regular part of every day.
Read today’s Scripture, and then pray for at least two minutes.
