YOU WERE ADOPTED

Now that you’ve accepted Jesus to be the Lord of your life, you may wonder what He thinks about you. We all start out having some sort of view of God and it normally relates directly to what our earthly father is like. Some people may think God is an angry person, wanting to punish us for every mistake we make, or maybe they think God is far away or too busy taking care of running the world instead of wanting a close relationship with us. Maybe up until a few days ago you didn’t even believe He existed! Regardless, I want to share with you who God is and what He thinks about you. As soon as we ask Jesus to come into our life, we become a son or daughter of the Creator of the Universe and our Heavenly Father. 

When someone is adopted into a family they have all the same rights and privileges as a biological child. When God says we are adopted into His family and an heir to the throne, that means we have all the same rights and privileges as Jesus and we inherit the Kingdom. 

Because of the sacrifice and love of His Son, when God looks at us He sees the righteousness of Jesus. We were made right in His eyes no matter the past, present and future sins we commit. We are part of His family and we have the right to approach the throne of God and ask anything in Jesus’ name! 

If you are a parent, you can relate to this. You know that your children feel loved and comfortable enough to come to you for anything. Whether it’s something small or big, you care about everything that goes on in their life. Same with Jesus. You can take anything to Him from asking Him to help you find your car keys, to healing you from a past hurt like divorce or abuse. Even our biggest issues and problems are small to God so be confident in asking Him for anything! He is a loving Father that wants the very best for you!
