21 Days After CampSample
Growing in God's Word
To Grow, you must get honest: take a moment and answer these questions:
What place does God’s Word actually have in my life? On a scale of 1-10 how do I value the Word to guide my decisions and emotions?
How many days a week do I consistently read your Bible?
Do I know how to gather content from the Bible that applies to my life?
How well do I understand the Bible? Do I know the basics: the number and names of the Books of the Bible, authors, etc.? Do I know the well-known OT and Gospel Bible Stories?
If you have low value of God’s Word in your life, Read:
- Hebrews 4:12 (Word is living and active.)
- 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (Scripture is God-breathed and useful for teaching, rebuking, etc.)
- Psalm 119:9-11 (stay pure by living according to your word; hidden your word in my heart.)
If you have a non-existent or infrequent time in the Word, read about importance of our charge to possess the Word of God in our lives:
- James 1:22-25 (Hear and do the word.)
- 2 Timothy 2:15 (Worker that correctly handles the word.)
If you are seeking deeper study, read where the disciples sought to go deeper:
- Acts 17:11 (The Bereans examined Scripture to check doctrine.)
- Joshua 1:8 (Day and night meditate on the law and do it.)
- Matthew 4:3-10 (Jesus memorized and used Scripture in the wilderness to overcome temptation.)
Tip: Use a concordance or www.blueletterbible.org to study words that you're not familiar with or which look interesting because sometimes you can find hidden meanings in the words used.
