21 Days After CampSample
Through the Static
We used to have these things called AM/FM radios that had a dial (yep, not just a button, Spotify, or Apple Music Radio) and it allowed you to dial it left or right to find the radio station you wanted. Between the clear stations, was white noise static and you knew you were close when you began to hear your station through the static. The closer you got to your radio station’s frequency, the clearer it got.
Hearing the voice of God in your life is very similar. We can try all kinds of things to hear Him, but it really comes down to this: the closer you get and the better you know Him, the clearer His voice gets. Hearing God comes from spending time in the Word. His voice also speaks through your Youth Pastor & Lead Pastor. His voice speaks through worship as you spend time in His presence, and as you spend time in prayer (not just talking but actually taking time to listen).
You can have all of those things in your life but if you don’t remove the static, the distractions, and the things that don’t belong, then you won’t have the clarity. Those things create static and keep you from hearing His voice and keep you from the clarity you need to live out what Jesus has for you. You are taking a huge step toward hearing Him today by spending time in His Word, but I’d encourage you to continue striving to remove the static so that His voice and purpose for your life are even more clear.
What static(distractions) do you have that could be interfering with the clarity of God’s voice in your life? What static is God asking you to remove from your life today?
