Illuminate: A 21-Day JourneySample
Day 4: It Takes Commitment to Live Illuminated
Faith is the first step to living an illuminated life. You also need to be committed though. In 1 Samuel 4, we find Jonathan and the Israelite army camped near the Philistine army. Take a second and read 1 Samuel 14:1–15 before reading the reflection. As you read the passage, pay close attention to Jonathan’s armor bearer.
Reflection
No matter the odds, if God has called us to it, He will get us through it. Our role then is to remain committed, putting our full faith in God.
- When was the last time you encountered an impossible situation?
- Did you shy away, or did you confront the situation, trusting that God had your back?
- How committed are you?

About this Plan
Coming off a retreat or revival? What next? You and I are the church of Jesus Christ on earth today, the visible representation of an invisible God. We have the Holy Spirit living within us, and have been commissioned to shine (illuminate) his love in the midst of a dark world. But what does that mean? How did we get here? And what do we do with all of this? All good questions, and if you stick with us through this journey, we are confident that the Holy Spirit will open your eyes to the light within you that God intends to use to illuminate the world!
