Illuminate: A 21-Day JourneySample
Day 20: Sharing is Caring
In a world that increasingly knows Christians for what they’re against more than what they are for, it’s even more important that we share the Good News of God’s love with everyone. Take a second and read Colossians 4.2-6 before reading the reflection. As you read, focus on how we’re to do this so others receive it.
Reflection
Remember the old saying from when we were kids: “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me”? How untrue was that? Words hurt. Words sometimes hurt even more than sticks and stones. How we talk to each other matters. How we go about sharing the love of Christ matters even more. It’s not simply about sharing God’s love. We also need to show it with our actions if we hope that others will receive it.
Have you ever been hurt by someone’s words?
What were they and how did they make you feel?
How can you avoid making others feel as you did as you share with them the Good News of Christ?

About this Plan
Coming off a retreat or revival? What next? You and I are the church of Jesus Christ on earth today, the visible representation of an invisible God. We have the Holy Spirit living within us, and have been commissioned to shine (illuminate) his love in the midst of a dark world. But what does that mean? How did we get here? And what do we do with all of this? All good questions, and if you stick with us through this journey, we are confident that the Holy Spirit will open your eyes to the light within you that God intends to use to illuminate the world!
