Draw Closer to God's HeartExemplo
God’s Glorious Handiwork - Psalm 19:1
Whenever I see a sunrise and sunset, I’m reminded that God’s handiwork is all around us. I marvel when I see the birds soaring, the sun illuminating to create a gorgeous palette of yellows, purples, pinks, maroon, and orange against the fluffy clouds as the sun sweetly rises or peacefully sets. I see the shape-shifting moon as it rests with millions of distant stars and planets, creating bright specks of light against the backdrop of a night sky. As I reflect on these marvelous views, My heart sings, “My God is so big, so strong, and so mighty; there’s nothing my God cannot do! The mountains are His. The valleys are His. The stars are His handy work, too. My God is so big, so strong, and so mighty; there’s nothing my God cannot do, for you!”
Friend, how great and magnificent is our God?! There’s nothing He cannot do! In every tough situation and with every wonderful blessing, God is the reason for every good thing! And there is absolutely nothing too difficult or challenging that He can’t handle! When life circumstances are overwhelming, like the public health crisis of COVID-19, racial discrimination and other unfortunate events can be discouraging. Also, conflicts with family, peer pressure, or financial problems try to draw our focus away from God. However, despite what's happening around you or your hardships, never forget that God is bigger and greater than our problems. Your problems aren’t too far out of reach for Him to help you through. So, pray and talk to God about the problems you are facing. He sees you, hears you, and cares for you. Reflect on all the great things God has already done, and trust He will continue to do great things, even if you don’t see Him working. After all, He’s got the whole world in His hands. He makes everything glorious, and you are His precious child.
Creative prompt: What’s your favorite time of the day? Are you a morning person? Do you prefer looking up at the stars of twilight? Think about how this impacts your perspective of admiring God’s glorious handy work. You could take a walk or try to catch the sunrise or sunset. Now draw (or paint) what you see.
