Draw Closer to God's HeartExemplo
Your creative ability is a gift from God - Ephesians 2:10
“The Lord said to Moses, ‘See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every craft.” (Exodus 31:1-5 ESV)
Your ability to paint, draw, sculpt, crochet, write poetry, and write in calligraphy comes from our masterful Creator. Your ability to fill a blank page with vibrant colors, make a vase from a lump of clay, make an entire tiny village from recyclable material, and even your ability to imagine is a gift! Although you are capable of making something out of nothing, your gift itself is not from nothing!
You have been gifted with amazing talent from the Creator of creators, our Lord God Almighty. He has filled you with His Spirit and the ability, intelligence, knowledge, and craftsmanship to create such wonderful masterpieces, just like He did for Bezalel. As you draw closer to God’s heart, I pray you use your creative gifts and abilities to glorify, worship, and bless God. I pray that you fill these pages with colorful designs and doodles inspired by the wisdom and knowledge God’s Holy Spirit has imparted within you. Create, create, create! God will use your gifts to show the limitless possibilities through you!
Creative prompt: Draw a self-portrait. Before you start drawing, take a really good look at your eyes, nose, mouth, and everything on your beautiful face. Think about how God created you in His image. Think of all the delicate details of how God made you. How do you see yourself as you reflect on today’s verses? What are some interests, talents, and unique traits that God has blessed you with and makes you uniquely you?
