You’re the Only One I’m Looking For

My help comes from the Lord

When the sun comes up and the day begins, He is there. In the middle of the ordinary, everyday moments of our days, He is there. In the stillness and dead of the night, He is there. He never leaves or forsakes us. He is a faithful God whose love endures forever and whose pursuit of us will never end. His love never fails.

He is always with us. He goes before us. He surrounds us. He’s within us.

When we cry out to Him, He hears us. And not only does He hear us, He responds. When we call upon Him, He always answers. His Spirit guides us into all truth.

Jeremiah 29:13 says “you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”. God is looking for undivided hearts; surrendered ones that are looking to Him completely and continually. He strengthens the hearts of those who are fully committed to Him. It’s His promise found in His Word, and He never breaks His promises.

Are you seeking Him with your whole heart? Is your heart captivated by Him?

We can’t ride the coattails of someone else’s religion - whether that’s our Pastor, Grandma or neighbor. God wants us to know Him deeply and personally ourselves; to live a life that looks to Him outside of Sunday mornings or occasional religious experiences.

He wants to be the fire that consumes our hearts and dwells in our homes, being a part of all that we do. When we’re washing the dishes, we’re praying. When we’re driving the kids to school, we’re worshipping. When we’re sitting around the dinner table, we’re talking about the goodness of God. He can be found at all times, in all ways, if our eyes are open to it.

Why do we look to other vices when everything we need is found in Him? Joy is found in Him. Strength is found in Him. Peace is found in Him. Purpose is found in Him. Love is found in Him. Hope is found in Him. Freedom is found in Him.

When we are weak, He is strong. When we are hurting, He is our comfort. When we are lost, He finds us. When we have questions, He has answers. When we battle anxiety, stress, and worry, He gives us peace that surpasses all understanding.

Our help comes from Him, and in all things, in all ways and at all times He is the One we’re looking for.
