DAY 3 OF 5

Beholding Him.

We only love the things we really know. We share the things we really love.

When Isaiah saw God, his response was, "Here I am, send me (Isaiah 6:8)." That response came after beholding God on His throne. Isaiah saw God and was flooded with immense reverence and honor for this Holy God.

It went like this:

  1. Isaiah saw the Lord on His throne
  2. Isaiah heard sounds declaring, "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord."
  3. Isaiah felt unworthy, so an angel came declared the Lord's salvation to Him.
  4. Isaiah said, "Here I am. Send me."

Isaiah was so gripped by the beauty of God's glory, he could not help but give his whole life to say, "I'm here.. Send me!"

Hear the aches in his cry- he was so deeply convinced that God was worth his complete surrender.

God's desire is that all people know Him like this. When we behold His beauty, we open ourselves to a deeper measure of surrender that says,

"Jesus is worth my complete, 'Yes.' My dreams, my finances, my desires, my future, my everything- He deserves my life."

Sometimes it's an instant surrender, sometimes it's a process to surrender. What matters is that His invitation to us is constantly open and that our hearts remain open to His leading.

We see God's heart for all people reflected in Psalm 86:9, which talks about nations worshiping God. We see this in Matthew 28:19 when Jesus gives the Great Commission to spread His message to everyone, everywhere. Revelation 7:9 shows a great multitude from every nation, tribe and tongue of the earth worshiping God together.

It is God's heartbeat that everyone would know Him.

"It's impossible to draw near to His heart and not hear what His heart beats for."

When we're confident in His love towards us, we will naturally want to lead people to knowing this Jesus.

Ask Yourself:

Have I seen God as just another part of my life, or is He the Lord of my life?

Prayer:

Father, thank you for how much you love us. You had a plan from the very beginning to walk with us in relationship. I ask that you reveal more of your beauty to me today. Amen.
