DAY 1 OF 5

Becoming Like Jesus

Question..

Have you ever asked, "What does God want for my life?" It's a big question!

What if the answer is more simple than we think? What if it's not just about where you're being sent, what career you're choosing, where you're going to live, etc.?

What if God's biggest concern for our lives over and above everything is Christlikeness?

See, God's much more focused on who you are than what you do.

God wants us to become more like Jesus. In the Bible, 1 Thessalonians 4:3 tells us,

"For this is the will of God, your sanctification."

This means God wants to help us grow to be more like Jesus in how we think, act, and love.

You might wonder then, "How can I ever become more like Jesus?"

Well, Philippians 1:6 gives us some hope. It says that we can have confidence in God, who started a good work in us and won't stop until it's finished.

It's like putting a puzzle together — God is the One helping us put together every piece of our character, vision, desires- all the details- little by little. He's with us today, tomorrow, and every day after that, working to help us be more like His Son.

Why Jesus? Because Jesus is full of love, kindness, and wisdom. Imagine a world where everyone shows kindness and love like Jesus did. Wouldn't that be amazing??

Becoming like Jesus only requires a simple, "Here I am." Being like Jesus in the world requires trust in God's ability to make us like Him.

So, let's trust that God is shaping and leading us. Let's join Him in His big plan to change the world with love and kindness.

Anything we ever do for God must start here.

Ask Yourself:

Am I believing anything false about God's unconditional love towards me?

Prayer:

Father, I thank you for your plans for my life. I thank you for continuing your good work in making me more like Jesus. I ask you to open my eyes to the opportunities to be like Jesus to the world around me. Amen.
