The Old Testament in 10 DaysSample
As BibleProject explained, God’s plan in the tabernacle and temple was to create a new space, like the Garden of Eden, where he could live with his people. Jesus ultimately fulfilled God’s desire, when he came to live with humanity on earth. God was with us. And now, through the indwelling Holy Spirit, all Christians are being built up as a new temple, bringing God’s presence to Earth.
You can now continue to today’s reading where you will read about how the tabernacle was built and see God fill it with his presence. When you’re ready, the next day in the plan will return us to a familiar guide who will walk you through the next part the story—how God’s presence and people moved in to God’s place. A Home With God
Welcome back to “The Old Testament in 10 Days.” We are exploring the overarching story of the Old Testament while introducing you to ministry partners who are here to help you understand and love the Bible. Last time, The Bible Recap helped us see how God’s commands were given to show God’s people how to spread God’s image around the world. But the next part of the story shows us that God didn’t want Israel to just represent his presence to the world. God wanted to be present with them and the entire world. That is where the tabernacle comes in.
After giving Israel the Law, God commanded Moses to build a tabernacle. This was a tent where God would live with his people. To help us walk through this important part of the story, let’s revisit our friends at BibleProject. BibleProject exists to help people experience the Bible as a unified story that leads to Jesus. In this short, animated video, you will see how the tabernacle, which later became the temple in Jerusalem, reveals how God will live with humanity again like he did in the Garden of Eden. Watch this.
