COVID-19/PSALM 91: 7 Keys to Conquering Fear Voorbeeld
If God repeats it 365 times, it must be for a reason!
How are you today? Let’s continue conquering the fear of COVID-19 with Psalm 91.
“Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.”
(Psalm 91:3-6)
It’s normal for us as human beings, to experience fear. The key is, what do we do with that fear?
Did you know that the expression “Fear not” appears 365 times in the Bible? One for every day of the year. =) God insists on repeating it so many times in His Word, because that fear, that dread, is like the snare of the fowler, something that catches us and doesn’t want to let go.
We have to learn to dwell in the presence of the Lord through our prayers. Today’s passage in fact, says that when we take refuge in the Lord, we will not be afraid:
- of the terrors by night,
- nor of pestilences,
- nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
This seems to describe the coronavirus quite well, don’t you think? These are the promises that God gives us:
- God will cover us. We can take refuge in Him.
- We will be safe under His wings, like chicks under their mother’s wings.
- He will deliver us from the perilous pestilence.
Dear friend, whatever happens, whatever comes, resolve in your heart to not be afraid. The more time you spend with God, the less time you spend in fear! The presence of God is the key to overcoming all of your fears.
Stand strong, dear friend; victory is getting closer.
You are a miracle!
