Week 14. Day 2. 1 Kings 4-7.

In these chapters (indeed in all of ch1-10) Solomon is presented as a new Adam in a new Eden. Keep an eye out for ‘Eden-vibes’ as you read, but some particular verses to notice are:

4:20-25
4:33
5:4
ch6-7

Eden was a sort of ‘temple’ where God dwelt with humanity, so in building the temple, Solomon is bringing a kind of return to Eden, as well as fulfilling God’s promise in 2 Sam 7 (see the notes there).

NOTE: Days 1-5 of each week contain the scripture reading for that week. Day 6 has just the 'key chapters'. If you want a briefer version of this plan that still takes you through the whole Bible, you could just read the key chapters featured on day 6. Day 7 has the podcast video where we discuss the week's reading.
