The Bible OverBrew - Bible in a Year

दिन 122 को 365

Week 18. Day 3. Isaiah 34-39.

Ch 34-35 These chapters vividly portray 2 final outcomes:

  • ch 34 judgment on those who trust the nations
  • ch 35 salvation for those who trust the Lord

Look for Edenic language in Ch 35

Isaiah 36-39 Historical transition

In Ch 7-12, king Ahaz faced enemy threats, but didn’t turn to the Lord, rather he looked to the nations around him for support. How does king Hezekiah respond differently to Ahaz? (37:1-20)

Hezekiah began well, but then he turned from this.

Ch 38-39 Hezekiah’s frailty and folly

Hezekiah’s folly leads to the Babylonian exile. The hope of Israel is not in any human king. We wait for a more-than-human son of David - thus setting the scene for ch40-66.

NOTE: Days 1-5 of each week contain the scripture reading for that week. Day 6 has just the 'key chapters'. If you want a briefer version of this plan that still takes you through the whole Bible, you could just read the key chapters featured on day 6. Day 7 has the podcast video where we discuss the week's reading.
