He’s Your Source of Hope

We live in a day and age today where people look to the world for hope, peace and joy. It may be in people, or material things, but they are searching in the wrong places to fill that void that they have. They are looking to others to give them some time of encouragement or hope. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with us encouraging one another, in fact the Bible tells us to. But, it becomes a different story when you fully rely on man to be your source of hope, encouragement, peace and joy.

There’s only One that we should fully be dependent on at all times for everything that we need and that is Jesus. The One who created us is the One we should look to for hope. The word hope simply means to have an expectation of something. When we hope for something, we are to wait patiently and expect for it to happen in due time. God is our source of hope because He is the One who directs our steps, and has a future for us. He is the only One that can help us and we are to look to Him for what we are to do here on this earth. When we need a boost of hope and joy, Jesus is the One we are to look to. Yes, He will use people to bring this to pass, but the first one we should go to is Him. He is the only One who makes that difference in our lives and fills in that void.

I love that Romans 15:13 says “will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him.” There’s a peace and joy that comes when you submit everything to the Lord. Submission to Him is trusting that He will take care of us and truly perfect all that concerns us. As we trust in the Lord, the by-product is peace and joy. A peace knowing that everything is going to work out and a joy because we have a hope and expectation. This then overflows into confident hope or confident expectation that what we are going through will have an end and there’s a bright future for us in Christ.

I want to encourage you today to keep your eyes on Jesus. Trust that He loves you. Trust that He cares for you in every way. Acknowledge that He is your source for hope, peace, and joy. Once you do this, you will begin to overflow with a confidence that you are well taken care of and that what you are believing for will come to pass.

Prayer for Today:

“Jesus, thank You for being my hope. Thank You for being my peace, my joy, and my everything. I give everything to You. I do not look to man, or in material things for my joy, but I look to You. I purpose in my heart to keep my gaze on you and to be confident that You have a plan and purpose for my life. I believe and declare that I will see a breakthrough in my current situation and I give You and You alone all of the praise and glory in advance! I pray this in Jesus’ name, amen”
