BigStuf Quiet Time Devotional: How to See God

DAY 5 OF 5

Where did you see God this week?

How are you feeling?

Maybe you’re tired (hello, late nights!), hyped, hungry, inspired, or feeling all the feels right about now. Don’t worry. That’s normal.

BigStuf was a really big week in your life for a lot of reasons.

So today, take as much time as you need to write down your answer to the question we started with:

Where did you see God this week?

Now that you’ve written it down, you must remember something else. It’s something the apostle Paul wrote a group of people who were following Jesus in a town called Philippi a couple of thousand years ago. He wrote it to them because he believed it about them . . . but we also believe it’s true about you:

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns (Philippians 1:6 NLT).

What God started this week, God will continue in the days, weeks, and years ahead.

As you continue to follow Jesus and look for God every day, we’re confident that God will do more in your life than you could ever ask for or imagine.

The homecoming you experienced this week continues as you head home from BigStuf.

We hope this week you’ve started to build some habits of things like prayer, Scripture reading, community, and looking for God daily.

As you continue on your faith journey, here are a couple of ways to continue to build these habits now that BigStuf is over:

  1. Start the After Camp Reading Plan on YouVersion. If you’d like to continue processing through this week at BigStuf, check out this free Reading Plan. After Camp is a great way to continue building a habit of daily prayer and Bible reading, while also reflecting on your week at BigStuf. Invite a friend, parent/caregiver, or your entire small group to go through it with you. It’s a great way to bring Homecoming, home with you.
  2. Grab a copy of How to See God. If you enjoyed this week’s Quiet Times, you can grab a copy of the four-week devotional for students called How to See God. The devotional is packed with daily reflections, practices, and ideas for how you can see God’s work through the evidence (fruit) of God’s Spirit in your life, others, and the world around you. You can grab a copy on Amazon or by visiting HowToSeeGodBook.com.

You were made to see God . . . not just at BigStuf, but in your town, with your friends, and in your home.

It’s possible. So, where did you see God today?

“When you look for me with all your heart, you will find me.” —God

(Jeremiah 29:13 NIrV)
