Acts in 28 Days

दिन 10 को 28

Is there anyone in your life who seems too difficult to love? Someone you can barely even stand to be around? The chance that we will like the personalities of each person we meet for the rest of our lives is slim to none. Can you love someone without liking them? What’s the difference? Talk to God about it if you need to. If you have someone on your mind, ask Him to help you love that person.

GO DEEP

Dig a little deeper and see if you can tell what Cornelius and Peter’s story says about you and me. Peter and Cornelius were almost total opposites. They came from completely different worlds, but there was one thing that united them: they both loved the same God.

Peter discovered that God doesn’t look at the things we look at in a person. God doesn’t care about your country, skin colour, or how much money you have. He loves you and asks you to do the same with others: to love them no matter what.

  • How does that make you feel?
  • Does it confirm something you already knew, or is it a hard concept to accept?

BE BOLD

Peter was raised and taught in his culture to believe Jews were God’s only chosen people. He may have even believed that Jesus came to Earth solely to save the Jews. But he was hit with a reality check: God doesn't have favourites; all men and women are equal in the eyes of God. Is there a lie you have been believing about people who are different from you? Do you need to show love to someone who has been difficult to love in the past? Don’t wait; ask God to help you today and act.

MEMORISE IT

“Opening his mouth, Peter said: “Most certainly I understand now that God is not one to show partiality to people as though Gentiles were excluded from God’s blessing, but in every nation the person who fears God and does what is right is acceptable and welcomed by Him.” - Acts 10:34-35
