Tenderness in Action

In a world where we are constantly bombarded with noise and distractions, it can be easy to lose sight of what truly matters: showing compassion, understanding, and kindness toward others. This is where the virtue of tenderness comes in. Tenderness is the art of listening, caring, and edifying rather than talking, correcting, and being efficient. It is the ability to show compassion, understanding, and kindness toward others. David had experienced God’s tenderness; he understood its importance in the relationship of a father with his son. Today, we will explore five aspects of tenderness for our relationships with God and others.

First, tenderness is listening, not talking. In our relationship with God, we must listen to what He says rather than always talking and trying to tell Him what we want. We can do this by setting aside time each day to read the Bible and pray, listening for His voice in the stillness of our hearts. As we listen to God, we learn to understand His plan and purpose for our lives.

Second, tenderness is caring, not correcting. As Christians, we are called to love and care for others rather than constantly correcting and criticizing them. This means showing empathy and compassion and being there for others. We should strive to be a light in the darkness and show kindness to those who are in need.

Third, tenderness is edifying, not just being efficient. We should strive to build up others rather than focusing only on getting things done. This means taking the time to listen, understand, and provide support and encouragement. We help them become the best version of themselves by edifying others.

Fourth, tenderness is focused, not frazzled. In our fast-paced world, it is easy to become frazzled and overwhelmed. However, when we focus on God and His love for us, we can find peace and rest amid the chaos. Focusing on God teaches us to let go of our worries and trust in His plan for our lives.

Finally, tenderness is truth, not deceit. As Christians, we are called to be truthful and honest rather than deceitful and manipulative. This means being transparent and authentic in our relationships, always striving to do what is right. By being truthful, we build trust and respect with others.

Let us practice tenderness in our everyday lives, showing compassion, understanding, and kindness towards others. This way, we can be a shining example of God's love and grace to the world and see our relationships with God and others deepen and strengthen.
