The Path of Life

If you’ve ever been hiking before, you’ll know how important it is to follow directions and signposts in order to reach your destination. Better still is to walk with a guide, somebody who knows the route and can help you along the way. Without direction, it’s very easy to get lost, take wrong paths, or end up walking in circles. Let’s consider life like a journey with God as our guide. He counsels us, instructs us, and has given us His Word to direct us. All we need to do is keep our eyes on Him and not get distracted by other things.

This Psalm talks about people who run after other gods. We could liken that to idols today - the things we pay attention to which can end up leading us away from God's path for us. Like any journey, sometimes it can be difficult to see the way forward or which direction to take. Don’t fret! Stay close to Him, root your life in the Word, and He will make known to you the path of life, one step at a time. He is the best guide.
