He Cares

The Psalms paint such a clear picture of a Father who cares deeply for people who need Him. He doesn't only favour the powerful and reward the wise. He loves those who are prosperous AND those who aren't. He loves the successful AND the poor. He loves the popular AND the outcast. He loves those who have it together AND the brokenhearted. He knows the names of all of the stars. Do you?

It's often easier to love people who are like us. The outcasts are often outcasts because they are different. The brokenhearted are often harder to talk to because they have a lot of baggage or carry a lot of sadness we aren't ready to deal with. The poor can be dirty and needy. We can make a million excuses for why we don't step outside our comfort zone and love these people the way Scripture tells us to. But, if we want to be like Jesus, we can't ignore the outcast, the brokenhearted, or those in need. God knows their names. He loves them and He is for them. Stop and ask God to show you who these people are in your school or community. Who is an outcast? Who is brokenhearted? Who is poor? Pray for those people by name.
