The Rulers from God
Romans 13:4a
Rulers are God’s servants to help you.
A ruler means a person who rules or governs. At home, the people who rule are your parents, while at school they are your principal and teachers. Their main purpose is to help and guide you to do the right things in life.
The Bible says, “All of you must obey the government rulers. No one rules unless God has given him the power to rule. And no one rules now without that power from God. So if anyone is against the government, he is really against what God has commanded. And so he brings punishment on himself.”
Other examples of rulers are the police, the ministers, the prime minister and the president.
God has given them the power to rule to make sure we are safe and we live well. Their main job is to ensure the good of the people they govern. Let’s honor and pray for the rulers that God has placed in our lives!
Prayer
Dear God, I bless all the rulers that You have put in my life, including my parents and all my teachers! May You always guide them with Your wisdom. Amen.
