Dead to Sin, Alive for God

Romans 6:11

You should see yourselves as being dead to the power of sin and alive for God through Christ Jesus.

To be dead to sin means to no longer need to be controlled by sinful nature. Sin may continue to exist, but we are no longer controlled by it. We overpower sin with help from the Holy Spirit!

How can we be dead to sin?

● Do not dwell in the lies told by the devil. The devil always wants us to believe that we cannot stop sinning. The truth is, we can, with the power of the Holy Spirit who is in us.

● Guard our thoughts and hearts at all times so that we won’t fall into temptation.

To be alive for God means to live our daily lives with God as the center and the reason for us to live! We offer our strength, capabilities, and talents to fulfill God’s purposes in us.

How can we be alive for God?

● Pray always.

● Read, meditate on and remember God’s words every single day.

● Enjoy every single breath with thankfulness to God.

Let’s not follow the sinful way of life but be transformed according to God’s will.

Dear God, I surrender all my life and future to You. I live for You alone. Amen.
