Read – Romans 3

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." 

When I think about forgiveness, I think that this verse should set the stage for us. It sets us all on a level playing field in God's eyes. If we all fall short, then no matter what someone else does to me, I have done equally to God. And if God has forgiven me, then how could I not forgive the person that hurt me. When we recognize our own sinful nature and how much God forgives for us every day, it helps us understand that we must also do the same for others.
