Romans 7:4 "Therefore, my brothers, you also were put to death in relation to the law through the crucified body of the Messiah, so that you may belong to another - to Him who was raised from the dead - that we may bear fruit for God." 

In the first part of Romans 7, Paul walks through the marriage relationship, where in God's eyes, marriage is for life, i.e. until one person dies. In the same way, we were all originally married to sin, since the one sin that Adam committed caused it to be born into the human nature. Likewise, this marriage requires that sin be put to death before we can be married to the righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ. He is our Messiah that put sin to death for us, thereby releasing us from the marriage to sin. Praise God today for releasing us from the bondage of sin!
