Brave to live counter-culturally

It takes a considerable amount of courage to live counter-culturally. It would be much easier to live life going along with the customs of this world. But, dear friend, living counter-culturally is so worth it. 

Romans 12:2 tells us that when we choose not to copy the behavior of the world, God can transform us! In that transformation, God changes the way we think, and we learn to know His good and perfect will for us. Which means that by going with the flow and copying the customs of the world, our growth is stalled and we’re blind to know God’s will. How frustrating that would be! But, we must be brave enough to live counter-culturally. Conformity is cowardly. Godly transformation takes bravery.

Heavenly Father, I want to be transformed! Thank You, God, for showing me the difference in living according to the behavior of this world versus living transformed by You. Thank You for the courage to live counter-culturally. In Your strength, I am brave. Amen.
