Brave in the midst of loss

One of the greatest joys of being a Christ follower is the promise of heaven. Believing in eternal life with God gives us a different perspective when we face loss in this life. Loss is hard. But we have heaven to look forward to, and the promise that in heaven there is no death, sorrow, sadness, or pain. 

We will experience loss and grief in this life, but as Christians, we know this isn’t the end. There is more to our stories. We have the hope of heaven. We grieve with the perspective that everything will be redeemed by Christ. The promise of eternity makes us brave in the midst of loss. 

Heavenly Father, thank You for the promise of heaven. Give me the perspective of perpetual hope according to Your Word. Thank You, Lord, for the courage to suffer loss and sadness keeping my eyes fixed on eternity with You. Amen.
