Hearing from God on the Mountain 

Life is full of mountain tops – where things are going great; and valley experiences – when things just aren’t working out. We have all been in these situations and as Young Adults we are still living in our fair share of both.

It’s often easier to seek God when we really need Him, when things are tough and when we are facing challenging situations – in the valley. But God wants to speak to us on the mountain top too.

Often on the mountain, we can take our eyes off God. We forget that just like on a physical mountain, just a glance away can cause us to slip. We think we are killing it in our own strength and forget that it was relying on God’s strength and guidance that got us there in the first place. When things are going great in life, don’t forget to ask God for the next step, and to trust His guiding.

When climbing a literal mountain, you need to have a path or know the route to pick the best line. Similarly with the everyday struggles and triumphs of “climbing”, we need the guidance of the Holy Spirit to make the best decisions, so we can come out on top.

This year on our mountain tops, let’s continue to choose to be guided by the Holy Spirit and put Him first in everything.

Prayer: God, help each one of us as we face the challengers of life this year. Help us to always rely on You, and when life is going great, remind us that You’re the reason for our blessing, our favour and our abundance. Amen.
