SOAP – John 8:34 It is easy to be seduced by all the world has to offer. The desire for wealth, promotion, acknowledgment, possessions, and power can be overwhelming. Sin is often introduced as freeing, exhilarating, and empowering. The truth is that sin is slavery. Sin seductively binds and chains you so that you are unable to refuse or escape later once the thrill is gone. A person can only serve one master – either God or sin. Every person will be held accountable for their choice. How does your lifestyle, attitude, and behavior reflect whom you are serving? Either we will serve sin, which is slavery and leads to death, or we will serve God, which is freedom and leads to righteousness and eternal life. There is no middle ground. Those who live for anything other than God will lose everything…except for His ultimate judgment. Father God, I thank You for each new day which is a brand-new opportunity to choose to serve You. Free me from the desire to sin. Cleanse my heart and empower me to choose to serve You daily. I thank You that Your grace is greater than my sin. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
