Sometimes, after a long day, nothing feels better than just sitting with someone that you feel safe and comfortable around. God is someone who we can talk to all the time and be with whenever we want. The safest, most comfortable, most joyful place we can be is in God’s presence. If you spend time with God daily, that time with God will become one of the most joy-filled parts of your day- guaranteed. Sitting with God, hearing from Him, and talking to Him provides joy, peace, and comfort. King David in the Bible knew how valuable it was to spend time with God every day, and he wrote about how much joy and safety he felt in God’s presence. We are able to read King David’s words today and learn from Him- spending time with God each day is the best way to guarantee a feeling of pure joy each day.

Challenge: Read through all 11 verses of Psalm 16, and circle, underline, or highlight all of the times that King David, the author of this Psalm, mentions the joy, happiness, or blessing that He has in God. Then, take time to thank God for the joy that He gives us when we spend time with Him!
