Purpose Her

The ant, though small, is a remarkable example of diligence and purpose. Its mention in the Bible underscores its significance. Proverbs 6:6-8 advises, “Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.” (NIV)

Ants exemplify the fulfillment of purpose. They may seem bothersome at times, but their entire existence revolves around completing their role. This teaches us a valuable lesson about our own purpose.

Like the ant, we are called to fulfill our God-given purpose. Even if our mission seems small or insignificant at first, it is important and needs to be pursued with diligence. Embracing our purpose doesn’t always mean we see the end result immediately. Often, it involves a journey of preparation and growth.

Consider the journey of a college student becoming a doctor. This path doesn’t transition from decision to practice overnight. The initial choice to enter the medical field is just the beginning. The years of learning and training are crucial, making the medical profession richer and more capable. Similarly, as we walk in the direction of our purpose, we should embrace each stage of growth as preparation for fulfilling God's mission for our lives.

Psalm 57:2 encourages us, “I cry out to God Most High, to God who will fulfill his purpose for me.” (ESV) This promise assures us that if God has given us a purpose, He will equip us with the strength and guidance needed to achieve it. Philippians 2:13 reminds us, “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.” (NIV)

Let us be women of purpose, diligently walking the path God has set before us. Just as the ant shows an unwavering commitment to its role, may we too be steadfast and purposeful in fulfilling our divine calling. Embrace the journey, for every step in preparation, is a step toward becoming who God has called us to be.

My God, the Creator of the universe and me, help me to seek out the purpose You’ve designed just for me. If You’ve already revealed my purpose to me, forgive me for not walking in it. Grace me with the will to move forward, pursuing what You’ve destined for me. Let me see that my purpose is important to the Kingdom of Heaven and my own life. In Jesus' name. Amen.
