Day 7: Exposure Brings Restoration

God does not only allow the enemy’s plans to be exposed so that they can be destroyed, but He wants wickedness uprooted, and His people restored and redeemed. Exposure of wickedness is necessary to bring the restoration of God’s justice and righteousness in the earth.

“For Mordecai had been promoted in the king’s palace, and his fame spread throughout all the provinces as he became more and more powerful” (Esther 9:4 NLT).

The king promoted Mordecai and everyone knew his name. In addition to this, after the Jews defeated all those who came to kill them, there was a time of great celebration. This celebration continues today among the Jewish people in the festival of Purim.

God turned what could have been an annual time of mourning into a celebration. He brought good from evil, and caused justice and righteousness to prevail. The final verse of the book of Esther is an example of the restorative nature of God.

“Mordecai the Jew became the prime minister, with authority next to that of King Xerxes himself. He was very great among the Jews, who held him in high esteem, because he continued to work for the good of his people and to speak up for the welfare of all their descendants” (Esther 10:3 NLT).

Had Mordecai and Esther kept quiet, Haman’s evil plot would have prevailed and King Xerxes would have made himself an enemy of God by coming against God’s chosen people. We cannot play nice with the enemy (Satan). When we see his plans at work, we must come against them with the full force of heaven. When we wield our God-given authority, our Mighty God will back us with His power. Will you, like Mordecai, work for the good of God’s people and speak up for their welfare?

How has this reading plan helped you understand your role as an intercessor better? After completing today’s scripture reading, spend time in prayer. Ask God to reveal to you an assignment that He wants you to focus on in prayer and intercession. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the evil plans and demonic spirits at work in this situation.

Pray:

Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for shining the light on that which is in the dark. Thank You for being a Redeemer, Restorer, and Healer. Thank you for placing your righteous ones in positions of power. I ask you to reveal to me any wickedness around me or any area where you want to restore your righteousness. This will be my prayer assignment. Thank you for making me a stronger, more discerning, intercessor. Amen.
