3 Days of Vino Vacay to Enjoy a Sober Minded Weekendഉദാഹരണം
Pre-decide
Our culture celebrates the week’s end with the acronym T.G.I.F., which stands for “‘Thank God it’s Friday!” Oftentimes, this means letting off steam from the work week, unwinding on a date night, or clinking glasses at a happy hour. Although there is nothing wrong with this release, often we try to accomplish it by stepping out of alignment with God’s best for us and even our good intentions from earlier in the day. For many of us, that pull to drink takes us into a divided mind. The mental tug-of-war begins and our sober mind becomes less of a priority.
For years, I found this to be exhausting and ultimately robbing me of the peace the Lord makes available to us when our minds are set on Him. Many times we settle for temporary relief when God desires to give us real rest. The Bible says when we commit and trust our decisions to the Lord, He will cause our thoughts to become agreeable to His will! So many times in my sober minded journey this has looked like “pre-deciding” and letting the emotions catch up later. As you step into this upcoming weekend, consider how leaning into the power of the Holy Spirit can guide your thoughts, feelings, and choices. You’ve got this! Stay present and fully awake, alive in your own life.

In this 3 day Bible plan, I’ll take you through the importance of the 3 P’s of a sober minded weekend. It all begins with pre-deciding our choices in advance and then we see how God rewards our planning ahead. We can use our past experiences as a helpful tool to “play the movie forward”, make healthy choices, and live fully in the present.
